The Gulf Shore Early Years Center (EYC) opened in September 2011 and serves all Island families. .
The staff at Gulf Shore EYC have a variety of training and experience, such as Early Childhood Education Diplomas, Bachelor of Arts and Science degrees, Baby Sign Language Certification, Human Services diploma, and many years of experience with children in a childcare setting. All of our Early Childhood Educators have First Aid and CPR training certification.
We are a not-for-profit organization operated by a Board of Directors consisting of parents and community members.
The staff, families and board members all work together to provide a warm, caring and stimulating environment. We have a Parent Advisory Board (PAB) that helps guide the direction of our EYC, as well as spearhead family events and fundraisers.
Our location inside Gulf Shore Consolidated School offers a unique setting, as we have access to the gym, multi-purpose room and library. Our outdoor play space is completely enclosed and separate from the School’s playground, with access directly into the EYC. Gulf Shore School has embraced us as part of their community, including us in many special events.
Pursuit of Quality
Our core strategy is the pursuit of quality in all that we do. Effective communication, mutual respect, community involvement, and the studied evaluation of current childcare practices are integral components of our organization.
Critical to the success of the Early Years Center is our ability to attract and retain professional, experienced staff by supporting their continued professional development and to actively involve them in overall operations.
